Access remote learning

Information for parents and carers about what to expect from remote education if restrictions require students to remain at home.

If you have any concerns or problems accessing digital learning, please contact a member of the academy team or our academy office. We're here to support you.

What does our remote learning curriculum look like?

Each week our students will have a combination of onsite lessons and remote education.

Every student will have a weekly timetable which will give them details about start and finish times, lesson lengths, and what type of lesson it is (for example - live or recorded).

All students will have at least one live lesson each day if they are at home.

When learning from home, students will be using Microsoft Teams.

Please have a look at National Online Safety guidance.

Our remote learning lessons:

  • are teacher led and skills based
  • provide high-quality feedback and assessment
  • deliver a broad and balanced curriculum
  • provide clear objectives that have taken the challenges of remote learning into account.

Should your child need remote lessons, your child’s tutor will be in regular contact to make sure they have their timetable and to help with any questions or concerns they may have.

We aim to provide a broad, ambitious curriculum which encourages students to recognise their personal learning journey and empowers our young people through the delivery of the knowledge and skills that they need to succeed in their next destination and beyond.

Parent and carer feedback

We are always trying to improve our offer to support parents and carers with the delivery of remote learning.

Please do let us know if you have any problems, concerns or difficulties in helping your child access their remote lessons. We would welcome any ideas and suggestions about how our provision can be improved.
