Letter sent our to all our parents and carers on Tuesday 27 April 2021
Dear parents and carers,
Following previous information sent to you advising that TBAP Multi-Academy Trust will no longer be running TBAP Cambridge, I’m pleased to now confirm that the academy will be transferring to Olive Academies (OA) on 1 May 2021.
Olive Academies is a multi-academy trust, approved by the Department for Education. Established in 2013, it specialises in alternative provision and already has three academies – in Thurrock, Havering and Suffolk. You can find out more about Olive at www.oliveacademies.org.uk
This is an exciting opportunity to continue to build on our strengths and achievements to provide high-quality alternative provision, ensuring that our young people are able to reach their potential in a caring and nurturing environment.
To make sure our staff understand OA’s procedures around supporting students and meet with OA leaders, there will be an INSET day on Tuesday 4 May, when the academy will be closed to pupils. We appreciate this is short notice, and apologise for this, however the nature of this type of transfer means it has not been possible to give any more notice.
We will do our utmost to ensure that pupils do not experience disruption to their learning during the transition. There are no plans to make staff changes, so staffing in the academy will remain the same. However, from the date of transfer, your child’s academy will be renamed and the signage in and around the academy will be updated to reflect this. From 1 May 2021 TBAP Cambridge will be known as Olive AP Academy – Cambridge.
We have invested in a new website for the academy - www.apcambridge.oliveacademies.org.uk - which will go live when the transfer has taken place. We hope that you will find this site a useful resource for key academy information, announcements and showcasing the wonderful work that our students create.
There will be an opportunity to meet with the trust after the transfer, details for this will be available later on in the term. If you have any queries in the meantime, please do contact Tony Machin, Head of School on 01223 375 514 e: tony.machin@oliveacademies.org.uk
Yours sincerely,
Tony Machin, Head of School
and
Mark Vickers, Chief Executive, Olive Academies
