Our curriculum

Supporting students with SEND

Our approach to teaching and our academy curriculum provide meaningful, effective learning and inclusion for all our students.

All students are assessed when they join Olive AP Academy – Cambridge to identify their strengths and needs.

Parents and carers are involved in these discussions at their child's induction meeting when they first join the academy.

We offer personalised planning and differentiation for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and teaching will be responsive to different learning styles to allow for meaningful and effective learning and inclusion for all. You can find further information in our SEND policy which includes our information report.

What special educational needs does Olive AP Academy – Cambridge support?

  • communication and interaction difficulties
  • cognition and learning difficulties
  • social, emotional and mental health difficulties
  • sensory and/or physical needs.

You can find further information about our curriculum and our approach in our academy policies.

All local authorities publish information about how children and young people who have special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are supported in their area. This is known as the local offer. Find out more about the Cambridgeshire Local Offer.
